Io sono la Musica

Irreverence Group Music presents Io sono la musica, the new single of New York based, Dominican Tenor José Heredia featuring American Soprano Rachel Hippert. The duet, composed by Julián De La Chica, tells the story of a man who loses his muse (music) and understands that only when he forgets his ego will he find her again. Mr. Heredia performs the pilgrim and Ms. Hippert performs the muse that returns with the redemption.

Notes

Tenor José Heredia met composer Julián De La Chica at Carnegie Hall, during the IGM Gala Concert in March of 2016, when Mr. Heredia premiered Mr. de la Chica's work Four Short Stories at the Standard Hotel Op. 6, in the company of the Scorchio Quartet and The Young New Yorkers' Chorus. That night, Mr. De La Chica also met the soprano Rachel Hippert, who later recorded the entire cycle Op.9 Experimentelle und unbestimmte Lieder, also under IGM's label and production.

We were all very impressed with Jose's work. He is a singer with a great talent, a wonderful voice, and is an artist that captivates the public. After our first collaboration at Carnegie Hall, I knew he was supposed to record this music. — Mr. De La Chica
